HISTORY OF THE LIBRARY

St. Anne’s Library & Information Science is the heart of the Institution.  A library is an organized collection of resources made accessible to a staff and students for reference and borrowing. It provides Books, Periodicals, News Papers, Internet, Institutional membership facility and other formats.

St. Anne’s Library was established in the year 2005. The Library was first in a small room. Later it was shifted to a large basement building. Now it is large where it gradually developed into a big library with a collection of around 8000 Books, 33 Journals, 13 Magazines, and 14 Newspapers.

Week Days : 8.30  am.  to  4.30  pm.

Satur Days  : 8.30  am.  to  1.00  pm.

Web OPAC

By WEBOPAC, users may search the status of a book even though internet access (24x7).

Bar Code Services

Library Services are maintained with barcode technology.

Open Access Services

Students can have access to the Book Section.

Computer Facilities

Computers are available in the library for OPAC services, library catalogues, journals etc

Xerox facility is available in the Campus.

The above facilities and services are available for use whenever the library is open.

SC/ST BOOK BANK

The St. Anne’s Library has SC/ST Book Bank facility. This is only for SC/ST students for without any charges. The students are required to produce the SC/ST certificate for availing facility.

Institutional Membership

St. Anne’s Library has Institutional Membership with British Library.

Library Rules

  1. ID card should be carried to the Library to access books.
  2. Books issued are to be returned within 8 days after which 2 renewals can be permitted
  3. Personnel books and files are not to be taken inside the library.
  4. Overdue charge is Rs.5/- per day per book.
  5. Maintain silence and discipline in the library.
  6. Library books will be issued between12:00-12.30 pm 2.30 - 4: 00 pm
  7. Reference books are not for circulation.
  8. Sign in the register when you enter the library.
  9. Do not make any mark with pen/pencil in the book
  10. Do not fold/tear the pages.
  11. The books taken from the shelves must be left on the table and not back on the shelves.
  12. Students can take 3 books from the library during the Examination for their reference.
  13. Renewal of books is not allowed during exams.
  14. Losses of borrowed books have to be reported immediately in writing to the Librarian and the same to be replaced.
  15. Any difficulty or grievances felt in utilizing the library should be brought to the notice of the Chief Librarian.
