St. Anne’s Degree College for women, was never an idea of the Congregation in the past. It only became a dream in the new millennium and a reality in the year 2005 owing to the visionary spirit of our Superior General Rev. Mother Leema Rosario who always breaths the air of creativity of our Foundress Thatipathri Gnanamma and walks eagerly on her footsteps. Led by the spirit and inspiration of our foundress, the St. Anne’s Degree College for women was started to continue the mission of educating young girls for future and to give them right motivation through value-based learning. Experiencing that our schools and junior college are doing very well, the parents wanted a Degree college in the campus, exclusively for girls to make their children continue their higher studies with us. The parents believed in our value-based education and in the fact that we would accompany their children in the crucial years of growth and transition as the city culture around is so frightening and misguiding.
The college started functioning from 13th June 2005 with 4 courses viz, B.Com, BBM, B.Sc(Computer Science) & B.A (IES), with 153 students on roll by the extraordinary step taken by our Superior General to envisage a Degree College in a place where there was hardly any space to move around. But the number 153in the first year of its inception calls for a deep thought in association with 153 fish caught in the net at the instruction of the risen Lord to his disciples. It was indeed an assurance of Jesus, the Risen Lord for the Congregation in terms of the growth of the College in future. Permission & affiliation for two more new courses namely, BCA and B.A (PJCE) was obtained to run the same from the academic year 2008-09 onwards.
